Cross border e-commerce accelerates development, international logistics enterprises aim at opportunities

China's novel coronavirus pneumonia (SN) has been a major impact on the global economic development, but it also spawned a new economic growth mode, which has made people's lifestyle change quietly. According to the survey of COVID-19 and e-commerce by the United Nations Trade and development organization, more than half of the respondents worldwide use online shopping more frequently because of the epidemic. China is one of the most powerful online shopping markets.
According to the data of the General Administration of customs, China's cross-border e-commerce imports and exports reached 1.69 trillion yuan last year, an increase of 31.1%. The development of cross-border e-commerce not only further boosts the domestic consumption demand, but also enlivens the connection between the Chinese market and the global market, making the Chinese market more deeply and widely integrated into the global economic activities, thus promoting the economic development.
Chen Jialiang, senior vice president of FedEx and President of China, told Shanghai Securities News that under the current new growth mode dominated by online consumption, how to help the growth of cross-border e-commerce demand and support the high-quality development of "double cycle" economy have put forward higher requirements and tests for the industry and international logistics.
Chen Jialiang believes that, first of all, China has increased its support for cross-border e-commerce to help the development of international and domestic dual markets. Secondly, enhancing the international logistics capacity will help to improve the level of cross-border e-commerce competition. International logistics service needs to give full play to its advantages, combine with the understanding of the local market and local freight rules, effectively use the local transport resources, and customize localized end-to-end logistics solutions, so as to ensure the timeliness and reliability of transportation with developed and stable global logistics network and sufficient transport capacity, and meet the service needs of the overall cross-border e-commerce.
Facing the "double 11" and other online shopping peaks, Chen Jialiang believes that cross-border e-commerce synergy should also be expanded. International logistics service should make unremitting efforts in improving the overall e-commerce service ability, expanding the operation network, promoting scientific and technological innovation, and enhancing personnel and resource allocation, so as to give full play to its own advantages and enhance transportation endurance.
