China United Shipping announced to order 2+2 container ships
On January 29, 2021, China United Shipping Co., Ltd. and CSSC Huangpu
Wenchong Shipyard signed a contract to build 2+2 1900TEU container
ships, and held a new shipbuilding signing ceremony at the Nansha Plant
of Wenchong Shipyard.
Pan Yuzhang, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of
Guangzhou Nansha Development Zone, Song Xiaoming, Deputy General Manager
of Guangzhou Port Group, Wang Jianmin, Chief Operating Officer of Port
Shipping, Hainan Yangpu Economic Development Zone Management Committee,
Deputy General Manager of CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard Li Xi,
Zhonglian Shipping chairman Chen Honghui and others attended the signing
ceremony.
It is understood that the signing of the new shipbuilding contract
is the first cooperation between China United Shipping and CSSC Huangpu
Wenchong Shipyard in new shipbuilding. It is also the first cooperation
between China United Shipping and China Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.
to actively participate in and serve the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao
Greater Bay Area. Practical actions of construction.
According to the introduction of China United Shipping, this order is
the latest Wenchong 1900TEU container ship, with a total length of 172
meters, a width of 27.5 meters, a depth of 14.6 meters and a deadweight
of 24,000 tons.
This type of ship is an energy-saving and environmentally friendly ship,
which complies with current international conventions and ship
environmental protection requirements, and also upholds the corporate
mission of China United Shipping to "create social benefits and protect
the environment."
China United Shipping stated that through this new ship ordering and
ship upgrade plan, it will continue to deepen the Asian offshore routes
and strive to provide customers and partners with more efficient and
stable shipping services.
Prior to this, in response to the surge in market demand, China United
Shipping opened its first direct service for the Spring Festival
overtime ship to Europe on January 20, 2021, and will make its maiden
voyage on February 6, 2021.
It is reported that the direct European route will call at the ports of
Rotterdam and Hamburg in Europe. In Asia, in addition to the three major
ports of Shekou, Yantian and Hong Kong, the export cargoes of Shanghai,
Ningbo and Vietnam Gloria will be transferred to large ships in Hong
Kong. Services cover the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta
regions.
